Falafel with a twist! This hearty falafel cake is baked in the oven and then topped with your favorite hummus, fresh herbs, and pomegranate seeds. Our Minty Chick seasoning gives the falafel cake a spicy, fresh kick—perfect for barbecue parties or when you want to surprise your guests with something different.
Ingredients for the falafel cake:
- 2 cans of chickpeas
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 red onion
- 50 g tahini
- 60 g oat flour
- 4 tsp "Besser im Glas" Minty Chick Seasoning
- optional: a handful of fresh cilantro or parsley
- 2 tablespoons of water, or more as needed
Additional ingredients:
- your favorite hummus
- Pomegranate seeds
- fresh cilantro or parsley
- Arugula
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (top and bottom heat). Line a springform pan (about 20 cm) with parchment paper.
- Place all the ingredients for the falafel cake in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the springform pan, smooth it out, and cover it with parchment paper.
- Bake for 35 minutes, then remove the parchment paper and bake for another 25–30 minutes, until the top is golden brown and a wooden skewer comes out clean.
- Let it cool for about 30 minutes before removing it from the pan.
- Then garnish with your favorite hummus, the Minty Chick seasoning, pomegranate seeds, fresh herbs, and arugula.
