Is homemade hummus complicated? Not at all—be sure to try our Middle Eastern version with lentils!
Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 200 g dry red lentils
- 500 ml of water
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 60 g tahini
- Juice from 1 lemon, to taste
- 3–4 teaspoons of Orient Talent
- a few ice cubes
To serve:
- A dash of olive oil
- Smoked Paprika
- fresh parsley
- fresh bread
Preparation:
- Put the red lentils and water in a small pot and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes, until the lentils are tender.
- Let the lentils cool slightly, then place them in a blender along with the garlic, tahini, lemon juice, Orient Talent, and a few ice cubes.
- Puree everything until smooth, adjusting the lemon juice and salt to taste as needed.
- Place the hummus in a bowl and, if desired, garnish with a dash of olive oil, smoked paprika, and chopped parsley.
