Oriental Lentil Stew

Ingredients:

  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 red chili pepper
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 600 ml vegetable broth
  • 400 g canned tomatoes
  • 125 g mountain lentils
  • 2 scallions
  • 1/2 bunch of cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • Orient Talent

Preparation:

  1. Wash the vegetables and cut everything into small cubes.
  2. Sauté the onion in the oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the vegetables and sauté for about 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the chili and Orient Talent and sauté briefly. Then stir in the broth and tomato chunks.
  3. Rinse the lentils in a colander, let them drain, and add them to the pot. Bring everything to a boil, then cover and simmer over medium heat for 25–30 minutes. 
  4. Season the stew with spices and lime juice to taste.
  5. Serve sprinkled with scallions and cilantro
